9-9A

Jesus Time Day 3/4 of Creation- 1. God made it.  2. It was Good.

Day 3/4
God was busy. He made puddles, rivers, oceans and waterfalls. He made dry ground too. Next He made trees, flowers and bushes. God said His work was good. On the 4th day God placed the sun, moon and stars in the sky. All that He made was good.

Hopefully your child will be able to discuss parts of this story with you. I hope this edited version will aid in that discussion.

The children used crayons, markers or colored pencils to color Day 3/4 in their booklet.

Color- The color for Sept. is Red. Activities available for exploration: sorting red and blue disc to matching containers, finding red apples in the classroom, painting with red paint and finding red items in the bag.

Shape- The color for the month of Sept. is Octagon. Activities included learning characteristics of an octagon, tracing a template of an octagon, and attaching a small octagon to a large octagon.

Number- This month the number is 2.  Activities to foster learning this week are; holding up 2 fingers, counting to 2, stamping #2, and placing 2 apples on the number 2 page.

Fine Motor- learning to use crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue and picking up small items with our thumb and forefinger

Large Motor- running, jumping skipping, hopping, riding on scooters and in coupes, hopping on balls and walking on a balance beam

Music- ABC song Spaghetti Sauce is Red, It's an Octagon, God Created

Literacy Skills- These activities centered on using our words to describe or share an event/activity with classmates. Students also enjoyed books on their own and loved having stories read to them.

We explored many new concepts today. Take a peek and find out what we did.

I love the RED play doh.

We do too.

It is soft.

The frog is ON the line. The rabbit is OFF the line.

1, 2 big red apples.

We used the stamper to stamp #2.

Our painting tools for the My Red Painting sheet.

SO much FUN.

I like to be creative.

Tracing an octagon is challenging.

An octagon can be used a picture frame.

We sorted blue and red disc into matching colored bowls.

Our Creation story board.

We found red items in the bag. We named the item and told   our friends how it is used.

Jesus Time is similar to worship time in church. We talked about singing songs, praying and listening to God's word as it its read from the Bible.

Weather frog is dressed for a nice day. The class named the articles of clothing. Many were able to match the item to the correct part of the body. We talked about the importance of shoes and sunglasses.

We worked on the concept of patterning (A-B-A). The pattern was bucket, shovel, bucket.

The class placed a small octagon on a large octagon.

We went on a hunt for red apples. We found several in our room.

Here's some more!

This is an interactive book that we enjoyed today. Through song I gave clues as to what barnyard  animal it was. The students took turns naming the animal and placing the animal in the barn.

RECESS

Fun times in the sand.

Here we go Looby Lou.

Tunnels and ball were used to develop large motor skills.

The class used crayons to color Day 3/4 of the Creation story.

We used large balls to balance and hop on around he room.

We used several posters to help us develop language skills. We compared this classroom to our room.

We talked about the things we did this summer.
