9-24A

The Bible story: On the seventh day, God rested.

Through pictures and song, we reviewed the previous days. These children are really catching on to  the concept that God made us and our world and IT WAS GOOD!

We had a full day of PDO. We had fun playing in the classroom and outside. God blessed us with great weather. Indoors our activities and centers included: linking fish, manipulating play doh, finishing the Creation book, cooperative poster coloring of Adam and Eve along with the other days of Creation, singing songs, large motor movement,  sponge stamping apples, apple ABA patterning and camera frog patterning, painting a tent, making a stick-on mural about the outdoors discussing camping, painting a fall picture, coloring 2 flowers, looking at books/listening to books that I've chosen, and finally hearing God's word about Creation from the Children's Bible.

This was our day...

Hey Look at me.

Starting the day with linking fish.

Two finger prints on the tree to symbolize 2 apples.

We used crayons to color 2 flowers.

A camping we will go. It was fun to paint a tent and talk about who we would like to go camping with.

A/B/A patterning with red, green and yellow apples.

Music Time.

Dancing.

Recess.

Fun with sand.

Book Time.

The finished product.

We colored Adam and Eve.

These books were used as we sang some of our favorite songs.

Packing a suit case for a camping trip gave the boys and girls an opportunity to talk about what items are important to take on a trip. I enjoyed watching the children match these items to the suitcase templates. They did quite well with  this visual discrimination activity.

These were a few of the posters that were used to invoke conversation about camping.

The class enjoyed some quiet time while looking at books.

Sponge painting an apple stencil.

Another A/B/A pattern.

After lunch we had loads of fun with shaving cream. The class had many creative ideas on how to play and experience the cream. This was an enjoyable sensory activity for them.

The following are notes you should have gotten over the last 2 weeks; if not let me know. This is the Fall Harvest Trunk or Treat Evening.

Together We're Better order forms. This is a third source funding opportunity for Zion School.

This is the September Take Home project. It is an opportunity to work on an activity with your child.

This is the Zion Directory. It is given out to the oldest child in the family enrolled at Zion.
I hope you enjoyed viewing our day.
