9-8A

Jesus Time Day 3/4 of Creation- 1. God made it.  2. It was Good.

Day 3/4
God was busy. He made puddles, rivers, oceans and waterfalls. He made dry ground too. Next He made trees, flowers and bushes. God said His work was good. On the 4th day God placed the sun, moon and stars in the sky. All that He made was good.

Hopefully your child will be able to discuss parts of this story with you. I hope this edited version will aid in that discussion.

The children used crayons, markers or colored pencils to color Day 3/4 in their booklet.

Color- The color for Sept. is Red. Activities available for exploration: sorting red and blue disc to matching containers, finding red apples in the classroom, painting with red paint and finding red items in the bag.

Shape- The color for the month of Sept. is Octagon. Activities included learning characteristics of an octagon, tracing a template of an octagon, and attaching a small octagon to a large octagon.

Number- This month the number is 2.  Activities to foster learning this week are; holding up 2 fingers, counting to 2, stamping #2, and placing 2 apples on the number 2 page.

Fine Motor- learning to use crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue and picking up small items with our thumb and forefinger

Large Motor- running, jumping skipping, hopping, riding on scooters and in coupes, hopping on balls and walking on a balance beam

Music- ABC song Spaghetti Sauce is Red, It's an Octagon, God Created

Literacy Skills- These activities centered on using our words to describe or share an event/activity with classmates. Students also enjoyed books on their own and loved having stories read to them.

We explored many new concepts today. Take a peek and find out what we did.

This is an interactive book that I read to the class. I sang a song, with the sound each barn yard animal makes.  The class took turns naming the animal and placing it in the barn for the night.

This book names familiar items in a child's home withe the word's God bless...(pillow, bed etc.).

Yippee, new RED play doh!!!!

Toy time/sharing time

The frog is on the line and rabbit is off the line.

Each child experimented with various brushes and painted their paper red.

The children used a marker to trace a template of an octagon.

It was fun to place red and blue disc in the corresponding bowls.

We placed 2 red apples on a piece of paper.

Our Jesus Time Creation board.

We went on a hunt for big read apples. We found many in our classroom!

Time out of doors

Today we played with sand in the sensory table. It was a little damp so it packed nicely allowing us to form shapes and castles.

Circle Time- One activity was finding a red item in the bag. The child the named the item and told how it is used.

Using our sensory skills we touched "raindrops" with different textures on them and described how each one felt.

We discussed how nicely the class, depicted in this poster, were playing together. We developed our language skills by discussing what we saw on this poster.

The students took turns placing a small red octagon on a large red octagon.

Poster pictures of how we treat our friends at school and the different activities that happen in the classroom. These posters triggered talking point for the class. By using their own words to tell the story; their oral language skills were enhanced.

Another talking point poster. Playing/sharing/taking turns/cooperatio

This poster triggered thoughts on what we did this summer.

Textured raindrops

What did you Do this summer? This sentence allowed students to recall their summer and use their language skill to tell classmates about their summer experiences.

Exploring "red" items.
