9-23A

The Bible story: On the seventh day, God rested.

Through pictures and song, we reviewed the previous days. These children are really catching on to  the concept that God made us and our world and IT WAS GOOD!

We had a full day of PDO. We had fun playing in the classroom and outside. God blessed us with great weather. Indoors our activities and centers included: linking fish, manipulating play doh, finishing the Creation book, cooperative poster coloring of Adam and Eve along with the other days of Creation, singing songs, large motor movement,  sponge stamping apples, apple ABA patterning and camera frog patterning, painting a tent, making a stick-on mural about the outdoors discussing camping, painting a fall picture, coloring 2 flowers, looking at books/listening to books that I've chosen, and finally hearing God's word about Creation from the Children's Bible.

This was our day...

We started the day with linking the fish together. This activity reminds us that God created fish. It was a good activity for the development of our fine motor skills.

Play Time-It stimulates our creativity.

We painted a tent and talked about who we would like to camp with. This activity helped us explore our world and gave us practice expressing our thoughts orally.

A/B/A patterning with red, green and yellow apples.

I can trace an octagon.

The students used stickers to place on the outline of an apple. Then they colored the picture with crayons.

We placed 2 thumb prints on the apple tree.

We talked about the season of Fall and painted a colorful fall picture.

Today we went outside to watch the 8th graders launch the rockets that they constructed during science class.

We saw the rockets up close.  So of the PDO kids are excited about rocket building.

Enjoying books.

Weather frog is dressed for a sunny day.

A/B/A pattern using frogs and cameras.

Today we used crayons to color Adam and Eve.

Recess

We worked together to make a camping picture using stickers.

The children matched items to pack in a suitcase.

We added words to our vocabulary as we talked about activities to do while camping.

Animals we might see while on a nature walk.

Fishing and animal watching.

We might see animal paw prints while on a hike.

These books are also 2 of our favorite songs to sing and act out.

This is the book I read to the class. The friends built a shelter for the turtles during a rain storm. They didn't realize God had provided the turtles with a hard protective shell
.

On the 7th day God rested.

We are improving on the balance beam.

The following are notes you should have gotten over the last 2 weeks; if not let me know. This is the Fall Harvest Trunk or Treat Evening.

Together We're Better order forms. This is a third source funding opportunity for Zion School.

This is the September Take Home project. It is an opportunity to work on an activity with your child.

This is the Zion Directory. It is given out to the oldest child in the family enrolled at Zion.
I hope you enjoyed viewing our day.
