The Bible story: On the seventh day, God rested.
Through pictures and song, we reviewed the previous days. These children are really catching on to the concept that God made us and our world and IT WAS GOOD!
We had a full day of PDO. We had fun playing in the classroom and outside. God blessed us with great weather. Indoors our activities and centers included: linking fish, manipulating play doh, finishing the Creation book, cooperative poster coloring of Adam and Eve along with the other days of Creation, singing songs, large motor movement, sponge stamping apples, apple ABA patterning and camera frog patterning, painting a tent, making a stick-on mural about the outdoors discussing camping, painting a fall picture, coloring 2 flowers, looking at books/listening to books that I've chosen, and finally hearing God's word about Creation from the Children's Bible.
Our Day:
Our day began with linking the colorful fish together. This is a good fine motor skill that also develops color/color name recognition.
We used red, yellow and green stickers to represent apples. We skillfully placed them on the printed apples. The students then colored the picture using crayons. This was a good fine motor workout for their hands and fingers.
This week we will begin to learn about the season of Fall. Using water colors we painted a beautiful picture.
We are beginning to discuss our camping theme. We will discover activities to do when camping. Hopefully, we will have some meaningful discussions on this topic.
This is the book I read to the class. As Dora walks home, she says goodnight to many animals. The animal sounds were given and we had to guess the name of animal. After we guessed we lifted the flap to see if we were right and we were.
Today we practiced our large motor skills by walking on the balance beam. Maybe we will try walking sideways or backwards.
This is an art project that will be displayed in the hallway. We took a sponge, dipped it in paint then dabbed it over the apple stencil.
The following are notes you should have gotten over the last 2 weeks; if not let me know. This is the Fall Harvest Trunk or Treat Evening.
I used these two books during music time. We sang the songs by using the pictures shown in the book.
This is the September Take Home project. It is an opportunity to work on an activity with your child.
I hope you enjoyed viewing our day.
