9-3A

Our Bible story this week comes from the Read and Share Bible book, Day 1 and 2 of Creation.

Day 1 Gen. 1: 1-5, In the beginning God made heaven and earth. At first it was empty and dark. But God gathered up the light and called it day. Then He gathered up the darkness and called it night. God was watching over everything. It was GOOD!

Day 2 GEN. 1: 6-8, On day two God divided the air from the water. He put some water above the air and some below it. He named the air sky. It was GOOD!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. This week your child will be able to apply many of the concepts they've been exposed to during the first 2 weeks of PDO.

Color-painting a butterfly blue, finding blue things in our classroom

Shape-making a square out of popsicle sticks and painting it blue, matching popsicle sticks to a    template that is square, finding squares in our classroom

Number-placing 1 square blue block on a large #1, stamping blue #1's

Prepositions- placing a blue bucket on the blue line

Literature-singing the ABC song, finding letters in our room, looking at books, listening to stories

Large motor-jumping from 1 blue puddle to the next, playing outdoors and in the Commons

Small motor-transferring pom pons from a bag to a blue bowl using our fingers

Music- It's a Square,  God Created,  God is so Good,  Rejoice in the Lord Always,  Baby Bumble Bee,  Looby Lou,  ABC song,  Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes,  Bubble Gum

Bible Story-Please use this Bible story as you talk with your child abut Creation. The Creation unit will run for 4 weeks. At the end of this period your child will bring home a book that they made about Creation.
Key points: God made it. It was good.

Extra activities-if time permits, will be A/B/A patterning and discussing what we did over the summer

This is how we spent the day.

He started his day playing with puzzles.

We had fun playing with the toys in our classroom.

The boys played well together.

The two of us made a square using a template and 4 popsicle sticks.

We used markers to color pages in our Creation Coloring Book.

We are sharing markers.

Look at me, I made a square.

Now this is concentration..

They made some food and then pretended to eat it.

Do a dot around the square shape.

They played together and shared blocks.

Here we are using dabbers to trace a square.

We worked together to transfer blue pom pons from the table to the bowl.

This is a large #1 and the class took turns placing blue blocks on it, one at a time.

A poster that depicted all 7 days of Creation.

We started Jesus time by singing Read, Read, Read the Bible.

The students took turns touching 4 blue balloons to determine what was inside of the balloons. It turned out to be rice and beans.

The color shape and number board for the month of August created by the children.

These are the 2 books I read to the class today.
The boys and girls enjoyed looking at books,  after their snack.

Well no rain today, but it was too muddy for all of us to be outside.

We spent our recess in the Commons.

The class practiced jumping from puddle to puddle.

Playing with balloons is lots of fun.

Weather Frog is dressed for a warm and sunny day.

We can paint a square blue.

One last time for stamping #1.

Play doh time is when we get creative!
