Zion's Parents Day Out

9-2
Our activities today began with placing uncooked spaghetti noodles into spice jars. Children were able to complete the task using jars with large holes. Some children progressed to jars with small holes. This activity provided the class with an opportunity to use their fine motor skills. Puzzles were provided for the class and ranged in difficulty so that all children were challenged and successful in their attempt to complete a puzzle. Red is the color of the month and the PDO friends got creative as they played with play doh. Each month new toys are provided to engage each child during free choice/playtime. The Geo boards remain a favorite among the students. The sensory table was filled with rice. The children practiced filling containers, scooping, sifting, using tweezers, while searching for red objects The boys and girls looked at books. They listened to stories. They played outside. They took turns using the easel to paint an octagon red. Octagon is the shape of the month.
