5-19 Pentecost-Birth of the Christian Church

Luke 24:33-49

One night Jesus appeared in a room where many of His friends were gathered. He told them to tell their family, friends, neighbors and even strangers that He is alive. He told them to share everything He had taught them. They were to tell the people in Jerusalem first, but then they were to tell people everywhere. Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem until God sent them a special gift of power from heaven. This gift would help them speak in various languages, so that all people would hear about Jesus.

Dear God
Thank you for the gift of the church and your Holy Spirit. Help us to be filled with your power.
Amen.

Happy Birthday to the Christian Church

The children will learn:

Pentecost was the birth of the Christian church.
God wants us to tell others The Good News.

Here is a look at our day.

Using water color paints, we painted a picture of our Bible story.

We practiced lacing, zipping, snapping, buttoning and buckling.

After counting to ten, we colored a caterpillar.

We played house.

They fed the pet bunny.

The class made a caterpillar.

The children painted a rainbow colored design.

We completed a  number puzzle. Some children were able to name all of the numbers. All children were able to name some of the numbers.

We used markers and colored stickers to design a beautiful butterfly.

The class traced the diamond, Some children decided to color the center of the diamond.

This is a book that the children helped me read. This book encouraged us to find similar shapes in the classroom.

The Bible story.

Enjoying a great book.

Recess.

Today, we discussed the importance of numbers in our world. We found numbers everywhere in our classroom.

We discussed places numbers can be found in our environment.
Now you know what we did today.
