The Ascension of Jesus
adapted from Acts 1:1-10 and Luke 24:50-5

High on a mountaintop, we disciples are with Jesus. And Jesus says..."Everywhere you go, tell everyone you see all about ME!" Then Jesus goes up, up high into the sky-all the way up to heaven...all the way up to God. But don't be sad. Someday Jesus will come back-Oh yes! He will! He will come back in the sky, and you and I will see Him- OH YES! WE WILL!

Key points for PDO:
1. Jesus" work on earth was finished.
2. Jesus went to heaven to prepare it for us
3. Jesus will come back and take us to heaven.

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam

  1. 1. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam,
    To shine for him each day;
In ev'ry way try to please him,
At home, at school, at play.
  2. 2. Jesus wants me to be loving
And kind to all I see,
    Showing how pleasant and happy
    His little one can be.
  3. Chorus
    A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
    A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
I'll be a sunbeam for him
This is the Day

This is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made

This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Won't let Satan blow it out, I'm gonna let it shine
Won't let Satan blow it out, I'm gonna let it shine
Won't let Satan blow it out, I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel, no! I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel, no! I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel, no! I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

We finished with, All around the neighborhood, I'm gonna let it shine.
This is to remind us to tell others about Jesus.

Here's what we did today, take a look.

We are getting good at working puzzles.

We played toys with PDO friends.

The color for the month of May is Rainbow colors. That's a review of all the colors we've learned this year. To celebrate, we had several colors of play doh to work with. It was fun choosing the color we liked best.

Yum, yum we matched halves of sandwich cookies according to similar shapes.

We planted flowers.

Due to a wet playground, we played in the Commons.

Ta Da, we finished our A-B-C book.

Do A Dot Rainbows.

We reviewed shapes and colors. We matched colored popsicle sticks by color to the corresponding shape.

We dressed Weather Frog for a rainy day.

This book helped us review our numbers.

The class enjoyed this book.

We reviewed the letters of the alphabet using this book.

The children loved this book. We don't know why Mommy was hiding but, we did find her.

This week we are making a poster of the Bible story.

We used cotton balls for clouds.

Blessings on your evening.
