11-15

The children and I had a super day at play. We know that play is their "work" and through play they learn valuable academic and life skills that will sustain them through adulthood. These are the centers that comprised our day.

We began day day coloring a picture of a cornucopia.

 Dress up stimulates their imaginations.
They love to build with big blocks. Team work is displayed here.
Cooking... just like mom and dad.
The class library fosters a love for books and the knowledge gained is priceless.
Last of the lobby art. This project will be displayed through the 1st week in Dec.
In order to develop fine motor skills, students placed Q-tips in the holes of a spice jar.

This activity requires girls and boys to separate leaves by color. Jar 1 - red and brown leaves. Jar 2 - orange and green leaves.
Sharing a meal with friends.
Completing the Thankful book. This book ties in nicely to our Jesus Time theme of we are thankful. Our children are VERY BLESSED!
This child is adding stickers to the invitation.

 A/B/A patterning.
Enjoying a good book after snack.

We are thankful for food, house, family, clothes, toys, friends and furniture.
The day started rainy. Weather frog is dressed appropriately, thanks to my ELP friends.
Dancing to the Turkey trot and Freeze dance.

This song is a vocabulary builder as it introduces children to traditional foods served at Thanksgiving.

Too wet outside; so blessed to have the Commons.

 Books of the day.
Linking people. Good fine motor activity and social awareness as we link family members and our class friends.
Play doh stimulates our creativity.
 Patterning with stampers A/B/A.
Squirrel/corn/squirrel.

Investigating a pumpkin and a gourd.

As you can see we learned many skills today.
Have a restful evening.
