Zion's Parents Day Out

Oct. 22

Today the following activities were offered. Each child had an opportunity to stamp various sizes (S, M, & L), of circles using cardboard tubes. These tubes were dipped in orange paint. The children enjoyed playing with the classroom toys. The students took time to relax and look at books from the class library. The BIG activity today was placing orange circles on poles. The circles were made by slicing an orange swimming noodle. The book of the day was Five Little Bats Flying in the Night. This story is similar to Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. During circle time, we talked about circles and grouped them according to size: big and little. My PDO friends enjoyed the nice weather and had a blast playing outside on the playground. Miss Jeri allowed all the PDO children to paint Fall leaves on trees drawn on a BIG mural. This was LOTS of FUN! My friends had an opportunity to match 3 stars by color. We made a Bible craft that is displayed in the hallway. Girls and boys took turns building with blocks. The class matched pumpkin halves by number, 1, 2, and 3. Our last two activities were Jack-O-Lantern beanbag toss and pumpkin sewing. The day came to a close by watching a video of the Bible story, Father Abraham and singing the song by the same name. Please view our day, thanks.
