10-24

Feels like Fall is Here!

This week we are ;learning about Hannah and her son Samuel. Hannah is a good example for our pray life. She took her concerns to God in prayer. She made a promise to God and she KEPT it. Finally, she rejoiced in the Lord not just for receiving what she asked for, but rejoicing in God himself. The greatness of this Bible story is the fact that God himself listened and answered her prayer and does the same for us today. The children will come to know that God answers every prayer. In a way our young learners can understand, God answers our prayers with YES, NO and IN HIS TIME. God knows what is best for us. So families,  Give Thanks to the Lord for He Is Good! During the week we will learn the song "God Is So Good" and the class can think of ways that God shows his goodness to us. As the week progresses we will sing Thank Him, Thank Him All You Little Children and hopefully we can add things to our list of thanksgiving other than types of toys etc.

Centers for the week will include:
Pumpkin rolling
Folder games - matching animals, shapes/colors
Bean Bag toss
Sewing cards ( hopefully children are practicing on their
sewing plate that was sent home last week)
Apple matching by color
Large card Matching - Halloween objects
Books
Bible story coloring sheets
Group circle stamping
A-B-C magnets
Lang. Development - "Things that can be orange"
Books and Story telling
Music
Large Motor activities
Science discoveries - Fall, Spiders, Bats and Parts
  of a Pumpkin
Dancing with streamers
Bubble wrap

Here is a visual of our day:

Pop Pop Pop...this strengthens the small muscles in little hands. Not to mention it's fun and the sound is captivating to our ears.
Matching helps ELP friends look for similarities and differences.

Fine motor and hand-eye coordination is developed when sewing cards are used.
Bean bag pumpkin toss builds large motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social/emotional growth as children learn to share and take turns.

Looking at books fosters a love for reading and allows language skills to grow when children tell the story aloud to themselves and others.
Balancing and hopping, a good way to develop large muscles inside the classroom.

All five senses are at work here as boys and girls experience the sensory table It contains kernels of corn scoops, small containers, tweezers, funnels and magnifying glasses. This table can try our patience at times and sharing/turn taking skills are worked on as well.

Creativity aids in brain development when girls and boys decide what to draw and then execute the design.

The class is working on learning what types of objects can be orange and they learn various shades of orange. Children also worked with the letters of the alphabet. By touching the letters as they are placed on the board, the children learn to discriminate the shape of each letter.

This is NOT an addition activity but simply a color match activity.
Circle stamping = visual spacing, reinforces the color orange and allows for creativity.

PUMPKIN ROLL - SO MUCH FUN but also a Great way to develop large motor skills

The Bible story.

Fall fun... please be mindful of the weather we will be out most days. We need to release energy.

Video on the Alphabet, letters A-J

Matching circles by size and shape, ( big and little).

Music and large motor movement builds coordination, rhythm and appreciation for music, while stimulating self expression.

Parents your children are wonderful. Teaching them is such a gift. Thanks for sharing them with us.
