9-11

**** REMINDER:  NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY 9 - 15.****

I hope this blog gives you some idea on what your child did today and the reason why these activities are important in their spiritual, social and academic development.

The children are learning about fire safety. Today we painted a fire truck. We used red tempera paint and a small brush. The class is practicing spreading the paint thin, while, staying within the outline of the picture.

Children practiced sorting fruits and vegetables.
Red play doh was available to cut, roll and shape.
Many girls and boys enjoy playing with trains. They love to build tracks and pull the trains around It . They like to add to the scenery by placing figures ( animals, signs, people and trees) along side the track.
Musical toolbox - good for hand - eye coordination and figuring out cause/effect relationships.
Books are very popular;  especially with a good friend.
Learning to recognize our name, located on an apple.
Working latching puzzles.
Using crayons the children colored a picture of Creation. We are learning how to care for the gifts that God has given us.

The children experienced the sense of touch as they used their fingers to touch each textured light on the firefly. They developed language shills when they used their words to describe what they saw and touched.
 Time for books.
Artistic expression - Day 4 of Creation.
