Bible story:

Mark 1:11  And a voice came from heaven, "You are My Beloved Son; with You I am well pleased."

God Is Pleased

John the Baptist was a prophet who lived in the wilderness near Jerusalem. He ate grasshoppers and honey. His clothes were made of camel's hair, and he always wore a big leather belt. John was very wise. Many people came to hear him preach. He baptized them in the Jordan River. One day, Jesus came and asked John to baptize Him. John didn't want to because he knew who Jesus was and that He was Holy. "You should baptize me," he said to Jesus. But Jesus said it was right for John to baptize Him. So John baptized Jesus in the river. When Jesus rose out of the water, the sky opened and the Spirit of God, like a dove, came down to Him. at the same time, a voice from heaven said, "You are My own dear Son. I am very pleased with You." Jesus invites us to be baptized, too. In Baptism, Jesus washes away our sins and makes us God's children.

The class pictures from our Wacky, Tacky Tuesday as we celebrated NLSW!

The day started with a favorite activity PLAY DOH!

Then it was time for toys and centers.

The class placed number 6 on the paper and then they chose 6 items to add to it.
Counting to six is getting easier.

He counted 6 things to put on the paper.

This child is spreading glue. This is the 1st step. MESSY.

We used a template to trace a star. Way to GO friends!

The boys and girls enjoyed the magnetic board today, especially the new gingerbread people. Some children counted objects and then placed the corresponding number next to the objects. Others, made an A-B-A pattern.

The girls and boys used a dabber to fill in circles on the mitten.

The friends took turns painting a gingerbread man.

Stinging beads...lots of fun and good for our hand/eye coordination.

Getting creative with chalk.

Jesus story board,

A page from the Bible story.

A book that was read to the children.

A page from it.

Old Bear is the title of this book.

This story is about a bear who almost slept through spring.

Enjoying a good book.

Since we are studying Baptism, we took a walk to church. I showed the children a Bible, God's Word!

We also checked out the Baptismal Font.

We saw the Baptismal wall. Then, we took a special trip to the Chapel to watch the ladies make some baptismal banners.

After that, we went outside for recess.

All of us used crayons to color a picture of John baptizing Jesus.

We baptized a doll. This should reinforce the concept of water and the word.

The classmates were all very loving when holding the doll.

This is a glimpse of our Wacky, Tacky day.
