11-9

All in all we had a good week. I look forward to seeing all my ELP friends next week. Then we are off for a full week for Thanksgiving.

So far we have been a healthy bunch. Let's keep it up.
This weekend take some time to worship God. Zion has services on Sat. @ 5pm, and on Sunday @ 8am and 10:30am. Sunday school, Bible study, and nursery are open.

This week we've read the story of the 10 Lepers. We know all blessings come from God. We know the importance of saying "Thank You" I have noticed that many of the students have been taught manners at nome. Thanks to you parents. We appreciate your effort in this area.

Bible story:

Luke 17:11-19 English Standard Version (ESV)

Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers

11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers,[a] who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”[b]

Fine motor - placing pipe cleaners in the slots of a plastic colander.

Gross motor - bouncing on the trampoline.
Dramatic play...learning about care for babies, role playing a parent cooking food,  gives these children responsibilities,

 We feel involved and helpful.
Trains are very popular. Children learn to share the tracks, trains, signs and space. They learn to share with others and wait for their turn. Imaginations soar even in environments that are new to them.

Mixing yellow and orange makes red.
Painting is relaxing. In our room we are learning about mixing colors and how to spread the paint covering the entire area of the picture.
Thus counting page covers several area of learning: exposure to numeral 4: what a 4 looks like and the amount of 4. It also develops a connection to Bible stories we've learned, as these  books represent Bibles, ( memory/recall) of Bible stories we've learned about while giving the boys and girls the opportunity to express their understanding of these Bible stories.

Folder game... matching circular disks to the turkey's feathers. Fine motor, visual discrimination pre math skills, (matching, one to one correspondence).
Here we learned to recognize the shape of a cross, experience various textures, matching not only by color but also by size and adding to our vocabulary words such as: large/big and small/ little.

Turkey match 1 to 1 corespondance.
Today's books.
Gross motor movement in the gym promotes healthy bodies and aides in a toddler's balance and coordination.

It also helps with spatial awareness and in this case, without toys, allows them to be creative when playing alone or with others.

Thanks in advance for your help and generosity.
Building with larger, black, textured blocks.
Promotes cooperation, collaboration and sharing. Not to mention thinking and problem solving skill development.

The light table stimulates the children's creativity as they learn to share the blocks and the space. Self regulation is put into play as children wait for their turn and then step away so other can have a turn.

Painting objects that could be brown reinforces the color and how to spread paint.
We are making a weather book to help us learn about different types of weather.

That concludes our day.
