Welcome to our 3 day week. Over the weekend I changed out the toys and reset the room for the month of December. The color is green, the number is 5, the shape is triangle. Over the next few weeks we will spend Jesus Time looking at several aspects of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today and the rest of the week the lesson centers around the angel Gabriel and Mary, mother of Jesus.

The Bible story that I read to the class comes from the Read and Share Children's Bible. The Bible reference is Luke 1:26-38.

Mary's Big Surprise
Not long after his visit to Zachariah, the angel Gabriel went to see a young women named Mary. She was a cousin to Elizabeth, Zachariah's wife. Mary was engaged to marry Joseph, the carpenter. "Don't be afraid, Mary," the angel said. "God is pleaded with you. You will have a baby and will name Him Jesus. He will be called the Son of God." This was a big surprise to Mary.

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose
and if you ever saw it
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
play in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!

New toys....so exciting!!!!

Large, medium and small, we can match all 3.

Our fingers and hands got a workout today.

We used a plastic needle threaded with yarn. Then we placed a the needle in the hole and pulled it through on the other side.

What should I draw today?

Working puzzles gives my brain a workout.

#5 is the number for the month a December. The class placed 5 Christmas stickers on the sheet of paper.

Boohoo this was the last day for these items in the sensory table.

The shape for the month of Dec. is triangle. The girls and boys made a triangle collage.

The angel Gabrielle was sent from God to tell Mary some Good News. Please ask your child what the good news was; see if they can tell you.

We got to enjoy a new set of books. Most of them tell about Christmas.

Too wet to go outside. Instead we played in the Commons.

I used crayons to color a picture of Mary.

We painted green today which is the color for Dec.
