Zion's Parents Day Out

1-5

Even  though it's a short week we were are learning so much. It's good to get back in a routine and enjoy learning and playing with our ELP friends.

I will send out a reminder on Snday about Early registration for next year. Students of ZION and church members may enroll on Monday the 8th. I advise you to make this a priority if you are in need of particular days.
A child who is eligible for preschool and 3 yrs old must sign up for at least 2 days whether enrolling in half or full day preschool. The four year old student must sign up for a minimum of 3 days,  whether they are enrolling in half or full day preschool. If you child isn't completely potty trained or is just getting ready to begin and is age eligible, sign up for preschool. If you make it a priority your child will be able to be fully trained in the 6 and a half months that remain, prior to to the start of  preschool. I know there is a lot of discussion about children not being trained until 4. This isn't the norm. All children eligible for preschool, in my room,  should be potty trained in time for the 2018-19 school year.
While spots may be available on a limited basis though out next week don't risk it  Open in enrollment begins at 1pm, 1-8-18.  Just like last year any available spots will be filled within the hour. This applies to ELP as well, so DON"T DELAY. If you know of a community family wanting to enroll give them the postcard coming home today and stress the urgency of enrolling at 1pm, on the 8th.
While there is a wait list we usually don't have any families leaving therefore, the wait list isn't much help.
Friday pics.
Lots of puzzles, of varying difficulty, to work.

White play doh was available to mold and shape.

Water color painting of a gift. This reminds us of Epiphany, when the wise men visited Jesus.

Toys and friends. The children made an easy transition returning to ELP

The Bible story.

ELP students are enjoying the book selection for the month of January.

Letter names and sounds video from the Learning Station engages the students as they recognize the letters and sounds of each letter. After every set of 2 letters, all letters are presented in alphabetical order through song and dance.

Way too cold to even walk up to the Commons so for a change of pace we played in Ms.Jeri's room.
Girls and boys enjoyed watching the turtle.

My friends took a break from toys and played in lotion. Now that was fun and moisturizing to dry hands.

 Books for Friday.

 Our Jesus Board.

An action rhyme we are learning.

Wise men traveled from afar
Following a special star.
When they stopped
They jumped for joy
And worshiped baby Jesus boy.

Blessings and good health to all.
