5-15

I hope all families enjoyed honoring and celebrating the moms in their lives. Well it is hard to believe but this is the last full week of ELP. Our children have come so very far. Many are potty trained or close to it. A a large number of them are becoming self sufficient in dressing and undressing themselves, putting on socks and shoes, same with pants, shorts, dresses and skirts, when using the rest room or when getting u from nap. Even the youngest ones can wash hands with some guidance. As a whole the children can sit for a longer time span when it is Jesus Time and Circle Time. Language skills have greatly improved since the beginning of school. Listening and memory skills are much more developed. Almost all can follow 1 step directions and several are up to 3 step directions. What is really a pleasure to watch is how much more they are interacting with each other and actually playing with class mates; not just playing beside a class member. Well that's enough for today. I will share more tomorrow. Now a glimpse of our busy day.

We started the day going outside in order to beat the heat.

 Matching sticks by color.

Linking fish.
 Finding critters in the table.

Lacing cards.

 Group art.

Using markers to color Jesus.

 Naming numbers.

Books.
Books of the day.
Roll the number cube and find the corresponding number.

Scissor skills were used to cut out Jesus.

Hallway art. Kite stamping using a water color stamp pad.
Flower art using Payons. Similar crayons, but also like water colors. We colored 1st. Then we applied water with a paint brush and the colors turned to a water color consistency.
