A fun filled day was had by all as we interacted with each other, played with our friends and the classroom toys. The children enjoyed stringing straws on a pipe cleaner. They thought about what they are thankful and cut out a picture;gluing it to a leaf. This activity supports Thankful Thursday for Week of the Young Child. Girls and boys used markers to color a picture about dental care. A book was read to the class and a dental discussion followed. The boys and girls sorted pictures into 2 groups: What items (pics) can and can't be washed. Using crayons the students colored a picture of Jesus ascending into heaven. Markers were used to trace the first letter of their first name. We sang some of our favorite songs. The children were attentive during story time. Every one enjoyed the wonderful weather out on the playground. The Bible story was Jesus Ascending into heaven. The children also learned what heaven will be like for us through John's vision. My friends enjoyed rolling the number cube and naming the number that was represented by the dots. We learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar. We made a caterpillar too.
