Bible Story;

The Lost Coin-Luke 15
"Once there was a women who had 10 silver coins," said Jesus. "Sometimes she would count them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...10 coins". One day something went wrong. She counted the coins and only had nine. Only nine! Where could the other coin be? She lit a lamp so she could see under the furniture. She swept the house. Suddenly she saw it! She picked it up and called to her friends. "Be happy for me, I have found my lost coin." Friends, God is like that woman. He wants to find his people who are not following him. They are lost from him. He wants them to follow him again. Then they will be found, and God will be happy!

Here is a snapshot or two of your child playing and learning today, in PDO.


Shaking glitter to make a silver coin.

We counted to ten, while each child shook the container full of glitter.




There it is, a silver coin.

Cooperative play with the bristle blocks.

Here comes the school bus.

Castles are so much fun.

Do a dot. We placed a colored dot, inside each circle, within the oval.

Each child was allowed to choose the color.

Before they started dabbing, they had to name the color.

We placed 10 silver coins on the numbers, starting with number one. The children counted to ten as coins were placed on each number. Next, the children tried placing the coins on the numbers, as Mrs. Burke called out the numbers randomly. For the littlest children, their job was to place coins on the numbers.







We worked in our ABC book today. The specific letters were: Q, R, S and T.

The boys and girls painted a picture of their choosing and painted it purple. They tried VERY hard to paint within the outline of the object. BRAVO!





These are the books read to the class. The titles tell the main idea of each story.

Ask your child what each story was about. See if they can recall any information.

The girls and boys matched the shape on the cards to the shape on the teddy bears' tummies. Good Job All.




We matched fish by color.


We made umbrellas for the lobby display.




We enjoyed the outdoors today.




Each child pulled three ducks out of the water. Their job was to say the number located on the bottom of the duck.






I was quite pleased with the children and their ability to recognize numbers 1-10.

The class acted out the poem as I read it.

PDO friends followed the directions,Yippee!

We counted down the carrots in the garden as rabbit ate them; 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Three bunnies. They closed their eyes while I removed one bunny at a time.

Then look and see what bunny is missing. The class did well at naming the color of bunny that was removed.


We had a wonderful day in PDO, as we played and learned together.
