CHRIST IS RISEN!
HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!
A Big Surprise-Matt. 28:1-10 and Luke 24:9-12
Very early on Sunday morning, the first day of the week, the women went back to the tomb. It was the third day since Jesus died. When the women got there, they couldn't believe their eyes. The stone was rolled away! An angel of the Lord was sitting on the stone. The soldiers were frightened. The angel said, "Don't be afraid. Jesus is alive." The women were happy! They ran to find other friends of Jesus. They told everyone that Jesus was alive! He had risen from death.
What we are learning:
Jesus had died on the cross and was buried in a tomb.
That Sunday some women came to visit His tomb.
The tomb was empty!
An angel said that Jesus was alive!
Mary Magdalene saw Jesus alive!
Jesus is alive!
Songs:
This Is The Day
This is the day (This is the day)
That the LORD hath made (That the LORD hath made.)
I will rejoice (I will rejoice)
And be glad in it (and be glad in it)
This is the day that the LORD hath made
I will rejoice and be glad in it!
This is the day,
This is the day, that the LORD hath made
Do You Know Who Died For ME
Do you know who rose for me Jesus did, Jesus did
Lovingly He rose for me
Yes He really did
Oh You Can't Keep Jesus Love in a Box
Oh you can't keep Jesus shut in the grave, shut in the grave, shut in the grave
Oh you can't keep Jesus shut in the grave, cuz His love will come a bubbling through
ALLELU
Allelu, allelu, allelu, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord.
Allelu, allelu, allelu, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord.
Allelu, allelu, allelu, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord, alleluia
Praise ye the Lord.

The children enjoyed riding in the cars, playing in the rock pit,"mowing" grass and building a castle with large legos.
We used instruments to help us give praise, honor and glory to God. The girls and boys were able to recall and supply many details of Holy Week, as together, we retold the story of Christ's journey to the cross. We shouted Alleluias when we discovered Jesus had risen from the tomb; defeating sin, death and the devil, so that we may have eternal life in heaven with Him.
The color for the month of April is purple. The boys and girls loved using the new purple play doh. They also had several seasonal cookie cutters to use such as ovals, crosses, umbrellas and rabbits just to name a few.
The children were eager to match egg halves according to color. Then it was fun to put different colors together.
The class used colored dot stickers; placing them on letter Oo and Pp. O=owl and P=paint/paint brushes.
Mrs. Burke helped the class lace Easter eggs. They also paired eggs according to the design on each egg.
The sensory table was exciting. There were egg halves to put together, chenille chicks to find hiding in the colored grass, magnifying glasses for an up close look at the grass, eggs and chicks, as well as tweezers used to pick up the chicks and place them inside the eggs.
We used markers to color a picture of what the first Easter morning might have looked like. We know that Jesus died and rose for US!
We took turns finding crosses in the bag. As the children pulled out the crosses, they named the color of the cross and stated whether it was big/large or little/small.
