The Amazing Catch of Fish/Breakfast on the Beach-John 21:1-14
Over the next few days, Jesus appeared to His disciples and many others and showed them He really was alive again. Peter and a group of disciples were out fishing in their boat. Early the next morning, Jesus came to see them and stood on the shore. He was faraway, so they did not recognize Him.
"Haven't you caught any fish?" He shouted to the fishermen. "No!" said Peter. "Then throw your net on the other side of the boat," said Jesus, "and you will catch plenty!" Then the men did as He said and sure enough, their nets were filled to the bursting point with fresh fish.
"It's Jesus!" said Peter. Peter and the others knew that only God could do something so amazing. They knew Jesus was the Lord. Jesus had made a small fire on the shore to cook some of the fish. He had some bread for them too. His disciples came and sat with Him and ate breakfast on the beach. It was wonderful to be with the Lord Jesus again!
Major points for Children:
Sin pushes us away (or separates us) from God.
Jesus comes and finds us.
He forgives us, and puts us back together with God.
He gives us purpose (or things to do).
Jesus continually reminds us of His power, love and forgiveness even when we have forgotten Him.

I will make you fishers of men,
Fishers of men, fishers of men.
I will make you fishers of men,
If you follow Me.
If you follow Me,
If you follow Me,
I will make you fishers of men,
If you follow Me.

We used a purple crayon and an oval template to trace a small oval. These ovals are displayed on the large bulletin board in the classroom.
Bristle blocks seemed to be popular with several students. Their creativity soared as they made some unique structures.
The girls and boys used large fish stamps to create a net full of fish. this activity supported the Bible story, "Breakfast with Jesus."
The boys and girls used dabbers to fill in circles inside an oval. Oval is the shape for the month of April.
We retold the Bible story by acting it out. We were the disciples who at first, didn't catch any fish. Then we listened to Jesus. We threw the net on the other side of the boat and caught lots of fish.
On the beach He made a fire, Jesus cooked the fish and we ate a delicious breakfast of fish and bread.
Playing with toys.
This was the other book that I read to the children. Bunny couldn't find find any friends to play with.
I hope all families enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Congrats to the children honored in church on Sunday, for completing the 2yr old Milestone Ministry program offered through Zion Church under the direction of Sara K.
