12-9

The Bible story this week comes from Luke 2:1-20.

So Mary and Joseph went to their hometown, Bethlehem. The town was full of people. There was no place for them to stay. At last an innkeeper allowed them to stay in his stable, where the animals were kept. It was here that Jesus was born. They wrapped him in clothes and laid him in a manger, the place where the animals were fed. That n, dabbing yellow circlight out in the fields, sleepy shepherds were taking care of their sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared in the sky. The light was so bright, it hurt the shepherds eyes. "Don't be afraid," the angel said. "I have good news for you. A baby was born in Bethlehem. He is your Savior. You will find him lying in the manger." Then the whole sky filled with many angels and they all sang, "Glory to God in heaven!" When the song was over, the angels disappeared.

These centers were available to your child today: toys, kitchen, play doh, books, music, outdoor exploration, decorating a Christmas tree ornament, matching circles on a tree template, painting the manager scene with water colors, white board and markers, shaving cream, sensory table, seasonal number matching game, magnetic Nativity scene, dabbing circles on a triangle, Christmas picture matching game cooperative coloring poster of the Bible story and decorating a Christmas tree.

Photos from Tuesday.

The children searched for things that were green in sensory table.

I found one.

A new scene was available for the magnetic board, the manger scene.

I love to play with Santa's village.

Well, what should I cook for my baby and me?

I am making a Christmas tree ornament.

First, I apply the glitter glue. Then, I will add stickers and sequins.

I placed foam circles on the Christmas tree.

These beautiful trees will be displayed in the classroom.

I like to decorate the Christmas tree.

We worked together to design a Nativity scene.

The children identified the number and then stamped five yellow stars on the page.

We can count to five.

I placed my angel on the tree.

I used a yellow dabber to paint the circles inside the triangle.

The students used water colors to paint the Nativity.

We worked as a team to color a picture of Mary and baby Jesus.

Time to choose a book to look at.

Today the class enjoyed listening to these books.

Away in the Manger. As we prepare for singing in church at 5pm Saturday. This isn't mandatory. If you want to attend please do so and if you feel your child isn't ready that's ok too.

Playing in shaving cream. We used our 5 senses to describe the experience.

As you can see, Tuesday was a busy day.
