12-2

The Bible story:

Now Mary loved a man named Joseph. They were going to be married. One day Joseph had to take a trip to the city of Bethlehem. So Mary went with him. The city of Bethlehem was far away. Mary rode on the back of a donkey and Joseph walked beside them.

During Jesus Time we talked about Advent, the Hope candle and the Bible story. We learned that Joseph had to be counted. Since Mary was expecting a baby, she rode on a donkey. We now know that the donkey will make an appearance in more than one Bible story. Today we saw the donkey as tMary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem. We will learn about another donkey when we hear the story of Palm Sunday.
