12-8

The Bible story this week comes from Luke 2:1-20.

So Mary and Joseph went to their hometown, Bethlehem. The town was full of people. There was no place for them to stay. At last an innkeeper allowed them to stay in his stable, where the animals were kept. It was here that Jesus was born. They wrapped him in clothes and laid him in a manger, the place where the animals were fed. That night out in the fields, sleepy shepherds were taking care of their sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared in the sky. The light was so bright, it hurt the shepherds eyes. "Don't be afraid," the angel said. "I have good news for you. A baby was born in Bethlehem. He is your Savior. You will find him lying in the manger." Then the whole sky filled with many angels and they all sang, "Glory to God in heaven!" When the song was over, the angels disappeared.

These centers were available to your child today: toys, kitchen, play doh, books, music, outdoor exploration, decorating a Christmas tree ornament, matching circles on a tree template, painting the manager with water colors, white board and markers, shaving cream, sensory table, seasonal number matching game, Christmas picture matching game and decorating a Christmas tree.

Monday's pictures:

The day started with the children creating objects using play doh,  rolling pins and cookie cutters (seasonal, #1-5 and ABC's A-G). They are very creative.

Oh what should I play with.

We searched through the "manger hay" looking for green items.

The class enjoys decorating the felt tree.

We used foam circles to decorate the tree.

Choo Choo, trains are a favorite.

The boys and girls stamped 5 stars on #5.

We matched like numbers.

The children used water color paints to paint the manger scene.

Time for our Bible story.

Great weather for playing outside.

We stood on the stage in room C to practice our singing of Away in a Manger.

This is an action song we are learning.

The Bible story.

We made a Christmas tree ornament. First we painted red and gold glitter on the tree.

Next, we applied 5 seasonal stickers to the tree.

The last step was to add glitter.

We matched pictures depicting the Christmas story.

I placed my angel on the tree.

The day ended with a little shaving cream fun. We discussed  how the cream smelled, looked and felt. We made numbers, letters and shapes in the cream. MESSY you bet, but Lots of FUN!

Where'd it go?

Monday was an enjoyable day with friends.
