Happy Valentines Day to all of you! Not only is it Valentines Day. It is also Ash Wednesday. I can't remember this ever happening before. Apparently the last time it happened was in 1945. Well know wonder... I knew I was OLD but there's NO WAY I'm THAT OLD!!!!! I believe it will happen again in 2024 and 2029.
ZION will have CHURCH SERVICES today at 3:30 and at 7pm. Between services LITTLE LAMBS will provide a Spaghetti Dinner in the church Fellowship Hall (downstairs). A FREEWILL DONATION is appreciated. This group provides Bible stories, crafts, outreach, snacks and fellowship for families every other Friday morning for youngest children birth to. This is a service and fundraising event. See the bulletin board outside the classroom door for more info. I will also send info home on Thurs. and Fri. of this week, if you or some one you know might be interested in attending.

Today we put the word ALLELUIA away until Easter. We sang the song, played the tambourine and placed the word in a box.
To close the day we discussed Ash Wednesday. We talked about sin, our sin sickness. That only Jesus can cure. Children decided that hitting, taking toys and not listening is a sin. We learned that Jesus' death on the cross took care of these sins. They were washed away. Just like water washes away dirt on our hands. Praise God.
During Lent we will journey to the cross and on Easter we will celebrate our Risen Lord.
God's Peace,
joy
