2-12

Valentine's Week- Several activities will center around this holiday and our Bible story.

Sorry for the late notice; I lost track of time. In ELP we will NOT have parties for Valentines Day. Change of routine and too much excitement doesn't work well for us. We have learned this throughout the years. Don't worry your child will have many yrs. to celebrate... Preschool - 8th grade!!!!!! I will slip a Valentine into each child's folder. It is from the staff. We will NOT pass out Valentines. If you bought them, they can be used next year, If you brought them in to school I will place them in the kiddo's folders. We don't encourage this because they can't write their names or  pass them out. Therefore it is all adult generated. Again ,I am very sorry I didn't get the word out sooner.

 Monday, Monday...
Valentine match.

Markers were used to inspire children to create their own work of art.

Pretend play... All Aboard!

The children created a headband with a picture of Jesus and the words - Jesus Loves Me. Crayons were used to color the picture.

Heart shaped pony beads were used to place 7 hearts on a piece of chenille. This activity reinforced the Bible story,  Jesus Loves Children. Fine motor skills and math skills were used as they counted to 7  while placing the beads on the chenille.

We are adorable in our headbands.

 Matching hearts by color.
Seasonal magnets. Snowmen, snowflakes, penguins etc. Some snowmen needed to be built which helped us add meaning to words like small, medium and large, bottom middle and top. Other snow- men were whole and they were used to create an artistic snow scene and used for counting.

The Bible story. Jesus loves the little children and blesses them. Children are important to God. We need to have faith like a child and love our neighbors as ourselves. We do this not only by our thoughts and words but also by our actions. Songs include Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, You Can't Keep Jesus' Love in a Box.and We Love because God  First Loved Us.

Valentine stories and a Baptismal story were the featured books for the day.

The children were excited to find new books.

Some of the children enjoyed looking at a deck of ABC cards.
While we all are different Jesus loves us all. Ashe Wednesday is this week. I will touch briefly on this and we
Mrs. D's room for recess today. Hopefully we will get some warmers temps soon!!!!!!

 Do a Dot ABC book.
 Snowflake number match.

Mrs. Douglas and  preschool students gave a presentation on making wands and bubble blowing.
As a STEM activity, the preschoolers made bubble wands. Predictions were made on how well the wands would work. They also learned bubble blowing techniques.  These ideas were shared with us. ELP students made a good audience and also demonstrated good manner and listening skills while waiting for a turn to blow bubbles. THANKS FRIENDS!!!!!!.

Yum, it's time for lunch.

That is how we played and learned today.
Blessings on your family time this evening.
