Supper with Friends
Luke 22

Jesus and his 12 disciples sat down to eat a special meal together. Jesus took the cup and said, "This cup is my blood poured out for you." He took the bread, broke it and said, "This is my body, remember me, whenever you eat this special meal together. Whenever you drink this cup and eat this bread, think of me." The friends of Jesus remembered what He said.

We discussed Holy Communion at Zion. Several of the classmates smiled when I spoke about Pastors or Elders touching them on the head and blessing them as they kneeled with their parents at the Communion Rail.

Key Points for PDO:

Jesus had a Last Supper with His disciples.
He asked the disciples to remember Him.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to remember you every day.
Amen

Songs:

Try to sing this song to the tune of “Mary had a little lamb.”

Jesus is God’s special Son,
Special Son, special Son,
Jesus is God’s special Son,
He ate a special meal.

He served His friends bread and juice,
bread and juice, bread and juice,
He served His friends bread and juice
And shared some special news.

We Love
We love (clap, clap) because God first loved us (repeat)
We love (clap, clap), We love (clap, clap)
We love (clap, clap) because God  first  loved  us.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Let's ride the horse.

Or maybe, we should build with Lincoln Logs.

The girls liked counting to 8 using Sophia stickers.

The boys counted to 8 as they placed 8 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle stickers on the paper.

The class took turns lacing shape cards.

Several students were able to name the color and/or the name of the shape they were lacing.

Circus train is loads of fun to play with.

Playing with friends is the best way to go.

Carnival town is also fun to play with.

We used crayons to color several handouts: Bible story, 8 hot air balloons, St. Pats Day.

Let's Cook.

Looks like it's a GREAT day for an indoor picnic with PDO friends.

Our friends tore tissue and crepe paper.

Each child created a rectangular piece of art work.

Our Bible story, The Last Supper.

We started Jesus Time while we sang our welcome song.

Next, we got out our Bibles (hands) and sang, "Read the Bible," as we prepared for the Bible story.

The story began with Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. This demonstrated that we should follow His example and show kindness and love to one another.

Judas betrayed Jesus and told the soldiers where to find him.

Jesus gave the men bread and wine as they celebrated the Last Supper.

Time to share books with classmates.

We had a mini St.Patricks Day parade as we marched around the room.

We also marched in place; sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

We played in the Commons today.

This is one of the books that was read to the class today. Just imagine a day full of YES!

 This is the second book.

Several students must have heard this book before. They certainly knew the story.

We made green glitter shamrocks.

We used mini clothes pins and attached them to number cards.

An example of the number card.

We found letters on the ABC poster.

Many children were able to name the letters!

We reviewed letters A-N.

We patterned shamrocks in two different ways.
Happy St.Patrick's Day.
