9-17
Here's a glimpse of what we did on Mon.

We are learning to play together and share toys. I am so proud of the class.

Perhaps a duet? Musical instruments can be played soft/loud, together or separately.
Role playing helps the children to be kind and helpful to each other.

Wow, the girls and boys found out that the magnetic blocks can stick to each other and also adhere to the magnetic board. Some of the children decided to take it a step further and experiment with different surfaces.
Working together in the kitchen.
Puzzles of various levels of difficulty were available for the boys and girls to work.
Apple match.

Lacing cards proved to be difficult for many of the children. But all were able to lace 5 holes.

The vegetable stand. The activity helped the children identify various veggies, compare size and color, learn names of veggies, learn names of letters, connect words to pics of veggies, and discuss which veggies they like or have tried.

Learning to use the flannel board by placing and removing apples. The students could match or pattern apples.

Animal match.
Learning about octagons.

Placing octagons on the flannel board,
Day 6 of Creation. God created animals. The children chose animal stickers, named the animal, removed the sticker and placed the animal on the paper.
Caring for our plants and garden.

Using the 5 senses to explore the veggie and herb planter.

Our Bible story.

Featured book.

My friends used the blue dabber to fill in circles that made a square. Hand-eye coordination was used. The children learned the right amount of pressure needed to fill in each circle.

The class took turns playing catch with Mrs. Barclay. The girls and boys used a beanbag and a sponge ball.

At the close of the day, children were given the opportunity to retell the Creation story while stacking the cubes.

Tuesday
The following pics are of the various learning tools that the children will have access to this week.
Puzzles.

 Dress ups items.

 Building blocks.

Our day usually starts with puzzles.
Then children explored the toys and centers were opened.

Magnetic blocks were placed on the magnetic board. They worked together. They tried attaching blocks to each other and counted them before they toppled.

Large motor development = running, climbing, pedaling and shooting hoops.

As a class, we stacked the Creation cubes and tried to remember all the wonderful things that God created.
Music and movement with Jim Gill. Check out his music. I know your child will love to dance and sing the songs at home with you. They are learning to control their bodies. Self regulation is incorporated into many of Jim"s songs.

We spent some time in the Commons. Scooters, balls and hula hoops were available for play.

On day 7 God rested from his work; Creation was complete. The example was set for us to rest on the weekend; to focus our thoughts on God, praise Him for who He is and what He has done for us.
Lacing cards are challenging but the children are determined.
The children like to dress up and role play. It's a good way for them to use their imaginations.

Making designs with octagons; using a magnetic board and a Velcro board.

 Matching apples by color.

Pre-project work. The boys and girls are learning to sketch. This is a fish bowel and their job was to draw fish in the bowl.

 Bible story.

We were exploring textures and increasing our vocabulary. Today's word are smooth and rough. We tried to find examples of both in the classroom.
