1-19

Welcome back, I hope all families enjoyed the MLK holiday.

Today was a busy day in our room. We matched seasonal objects, explored new toys, colored penguins to reinforce the colors black/white, played a number recognition game by identifying numerals 1-6 as the appeared on stocking caps and we colored the Bible handout of Jesus in the Temple. We made the Temple using craft sticks. The magnetic board allowed for some creativity as the children made a snow scene using seasonal objects. The sensory table contained Cloud Dough and we used our words to describe what the dough looked like and how it felt. The Bible story for this week is Jesus in the Temple. In our class library we have a new set of books and we certainly enjoyed looking at them today. The 2 books that I read to the class today were Snowballs and Snowman, Snowman, What Do You See. Many children enjoyed matching like colored mittens and fastening them with clothes pins. The girls and boys enjoyed using crayons to color a handout depicting 6 cars. Another center allowed our friends to sort snowmen and heart figurines into cups. Painting is always a popular activity and today the boys and girls painted with various textured brushes. We concluded the day with play doh.

Here is what our day looked like. Please ask your child what he/she enjoyed most about PDO today.
