THIS IS THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD. Today was Silly Sock Day...What fun to see our friends dressed in silly socks. Thanks for participating. It was also Music Monday. The children and I celebrated music by singing our favorite songs, dancing with streamers, learning about instruments from Mrs. Thoelke our band director, playing musical instruments in the classroom, coloring a picture of an instrument, making a musical shaker and watching a video about instruments and children's choirs. Mrs. Thoelke taught us about the 4 groups of instruments : percussion, string, brass and woodwind. Mrs' T commented on how well behaved we were and what good listeners we were.

Our Day

Working on puzzles and geometric shapes.

Linking fish. This helped reinforce our Bible story, Breakfast with Jesus.

A BIG box served as the boat and we acted out the Bible story of disciples fishing with nets.

Easel art markers and chalk.

The children used crayons to color a musical instrument of their choice.

By folding a paper plate in half, adding beans, stapling it shut and using markers to color both sides; we made musical shakers.

Letters were named and placed on the magnetic board.

Our April showers art work is hanging in the windows.

Working on a book bag that will come home in May.

Color match paint brushes to paint cans.

Singing some of our favorite songs while using the Alleluia shakers.

Mrs. T. teaching us all about instruments.
