Our Bible story this week comes from the Read and Share Bible book, Day 1 and 2 of Creation.
Day 1 Gen. 1: 1-5, In the beginning God made heaven and earth. At first it was empty and dark. But God gathered up the light and called it day. Then He gathered up the darkness and called it night. God was watching over everything. It was GOOD!
Day 2 GEN. 1: 6-8, On day two God divided the air from the water. He put some water above the air and some below it. He named the air sky. It was GOOD!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. This week your child will be able to apply many of the concepts they've been exposed to during the first 2 weeks of PDO.

Bible Story-Please use this Bible story as you talk with your child abut Creation. The Creation unit will run for 4 weeks. At the end of this period your child will bring home a book that they made about Creation.
Key points: God made it. It was good.
Extra activities-if time permits, will be A/B/A patterning and discussing what we did over the summer
This is how we spent the day.
Using a large #1, the class practices using square shapes to adhere to individual velcro spots located on the #1.
Today the class used blue paint to paint a square frame blue. Last week we glued the popsicle sticks together to make the frame.
This is the finished project for the color, shape and number board for the month of August. The boys and girls love seeing their work displayed.
Here we have the Creation poster that will be used during Jesus tim as we talk about the things in our world that God created.
We examined blue balloons and tried to figure out what they were stuffed with. It turned out they were filled with rice and beans.
Time to enjoy a good book. The students looked at books. I read two books that I had chosen and I also read books to individual students that they had chosen.
