The story of Dorcas
A video was shown followed by Day 2 of the Lesson plan.
Connection with the Gospel:
This miracle shows that even the disciples had been given the power to raise the dead after Jesus ascended into heaven. Jesus instructed the disciples to spread the news about the Lord. Jesus empowered the disciples to do what He called them to do, such as raise the dead and heal the sick. The disciples demonstrated the Lord’s power to raise the dead, but Peter remained in Joppa to help the people learn more about the Lord and His salvation for them.
Connection with Life:
This is an excellent time to remind the children that the Lord is the Author of life and His desire is for us to live in such a way that our lives impact others. Ask the children how Dorcas is remembered in this story and how Peter is remembered in this story. Challenge them to think about the ways in which their lives can make a difference to others.
Dorcas part 2.
We are Blessed to serve. We all have different gifts and talents to use in service to others. Even these young children are learning to help one another and experience the joy that comes from serving others. Jesus set the example for us and wants us to serve others throughout our life time.
Daily Pics - Tues.
The desk is a hit. Each child is patiently waiting for a turn to create some art work.
Castles, Knights and princesses are a big hit.
These puzzles are very challenging but these children are VERY determined.
An outline of a butterfly served as the template for placing ovals on the mat according to size - small and large.
The students took turns matching spring pics such as lady bugs, butterflies and flowers.
Reviewing numerals 1-10 by stamping them on the poster board. Each child attempted to name the number prior to stamping it.
Bible story coloring sheet of Dorcas sewing clothes for those in need. Crayons were used to complete this project.
Matching butterflies by size and color.
Using tweezers the boys and girls picked up poms of various colors and placed the poms on the template. The matching part was easy. Using the tweezers took a lot of concentration.
ELP children traced a diamond using a crayon. They could pick a small or large diamond to trace.
The girls and boys were given the opportunity to work 2 floor puzzles in cooperation with their classmates.

Opportunity to order Together We're Better (TWB) shopping cards. While these cards may be purchased over the summer in the school office or before/after church services, why not think ahead and get them now.
Up coming event. This is what the PTL $ goes for in ELP, since we do not have seasonal parties.
Recess! If your child needs sunscreen please apply before coming to school. If they are staying for ASC please send it in their back pack and we will reapply after nap.
This double sided form is coming home this week. Good fun with other families from ZIon, while enjoying a game and supporting our school. Please consider attending.
As always, thanks for allowing us to care for and educate your child/children. In HIS name we serve and to HIM we give the glory.
