The pictures show just some of the activities on the schedule this week. We invite each child to participate in each center; just try it approach. We do NOT insist on full participation one day a child might observe. Then the next day, fully participate. Nearly all centers can be simplified or increased in difficulty to meet the needs of each child. The only activity not pictured happened at the end of the day, when we danced with red streamers, marched around the room.
#2 red stamping = recognition of the numeral and color
White board drawing = self expression and creativity
Sorting fruit-n-veggies aids in sorting, color recognition, identifying each as a fruit or veggie, stimulative oral language as we discuss characteristics and taste preferences
What toy to choose
Learning about tools, what they do and how to use them.
Imaginary play - costumes a simple costume can add to a child's creativity
Coloring tools, lends in the develop of fine motor skills. Develops beginning art skills like: shading, coloring within lines and color choices. The Bible story in reinforced and this coloring sheet makes for a good conversation piece at home. It allows the child to use their language as they talk about the tools and develops recall and sequencing of story telling.
Puzzles increases thinking and problem solving skills.
Students recall the Creation story and learn the bacis of nesting and stacking.
We held Jesus time in the boat on our playground.
