Welcome to Friday's blog.
Next, it was on to the sensory table for the final day of digging for gold, rainbows and shamrocks.
The children are super excited to have tools that make designs/textures in the dough by either stamping or rolling. Just another added feature for creativity besides the scissors and cutters.
Learning the names of the first ten numbers.
Trying their hand at line segment tracing.
The class matched coins to the number template 1-10.
8 is the number for the month and the girls/boys used crayon to color 8 pups.
The boys and girls used dissolved jello to plaint a shamrock green. It is fun to paint with a new substance. The lime jello is a sensory element too. Most students liked the lime smell.
Using purple tempera paint the children painted a crayon purple. They are getting very good at staying in the lines, spreading the paint thin and painting the entire picture.
Matching Easter eggs by design.
The class took turns spreading green paint on wax paint. When dried and adhered together, the class will cut out palm branches.
With some assistance the students laced an Easter egg. They did a good job. This activity requires a lot of patience. Sewing cards would be an excellent quiet activity to do at home.
The children took turns passing around a dried palm branch. They used the sense of sight and touch to learn more about the branch.
Book of the day.
The Bible story.
Quiet time...enjoying books.
Environmental print. The class enjoys pointing out pictures that they recognize. Several students can name quite a few pics.
Large motor movement in the Commons using balls, scooters and good old fashion running, jumping, hopping and skipping.
Waving their handmade palm branches.
Some girls and boys enjoyed creating a St. Patty's Day display on the magnet board.
Dramatic play.
Building with blocks.
