Families, we had a fantastic day in ELP. We experienced children taking turns and sharing toys. The boys and girls were happy and engaged in the various activities of the day. The centers offered today included: creative coloring, puzzles, housekeeping, the easel-whiteboard/chalkboard, a large box to play in, and markers to color a design on the box. Many children enjoyed exploring the sensory table filled with beans and blue objects. Vocabulary was built as the children named the object, discussed how to use it and named some properties of each item. The class painted a picture of Jesus using water colors. Another painting activity involved tempera paint and choosing a template to paint blue. The book nook was popular. The boys and girls enjoyed looking at books and having Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Barclay read a books to them. I read, By the Small, Small Pond to the class. We talked about the color blue, the shape of a square and the number 1, during snack time. We enjoyed playing outside on the playground. Several children enjoyed viewing the garden. The class listen intently during Jesus Time. We talked about Jesus being our best friend. We discussed what it means to be a good friend. We sang Read the Bible, The B-I-B-L-E, and Jesus Loves Me. Our class enjoyed music and movement while singing, The Wheels on the Bus, Gunk Gunk Went the Little Green Frog and 5 Green Speckled Frogs. The children ate well during snack and lunch. They also slept well. Our day ended with singing the Good-bye song.
